One last tagging trip before the stingray season ends in the bays. There are some very large and healthy Atlantic Rays in this location. The bays and estuaries that the rays are caught and tagged will no longer be posted due to the unethical hunting practices taking place along the Alabama coastline.
The trawl pulls bring up all kinds of interesting marine life, like this juvenile Gulf Flounder (Paralichthys albigutta). The easiest way to tell the Gulf Flounder from the Southern Flounder is by the 2 spots that are located behind the pectoral fin and one at the base of the tail.
